What’s different between a Diploma and qualifications already available?

- Depending on what you want to do in life, different routes will suit different people.
- Diploma topics are related to broad industry areas, they’re not based on a subject area like geography or history.
- If, say at 16, you’re certain that you want to get into a particular job role, then maybe an apprenticeship is the way to go.
- The difference is that apprenticeships are work-based programmes, which means that you are actually employed, and they are designed to develop skills that are specific to that particular job.
- Diplomas give you much more choice and introduce you into the industry in a much broader way, allowing you to move into a number of areas within the industry.
- You even have the option to start an apprenticeship after you have completed the Diploma. It’s totally up to you.
- You can even choose to study the Diploma while you’re studying your GCSEs or A levels.
