"The Diploma qualification has been long awaited in the business and educational sector. They offer a new way of students to learn new skills that will help them to understand their chosen career paths and also help them gain new skills needed which will be relevant to the workplace. One of the great things about these diplomas is that it actively involves industry professionals in creating these qualifications and what actual skill will not only be relevant to the specific industry area and job role, but also the basic skills needed to succeed."

Steve Hadfield, Fitness Manager Manager, Chesterfield College Clowne Campus
"The new Sport and Active Leisure Diploma will offer young people an opportunity to improve their knowledge and learn new skills both in a academic and practical way which will lead to better prepared employees for employers to recruit and will create a better workforce. The Diploma is accessible to all levels of capability and allows young people to progress into the career of their choice.
The Diploma will give employers a bigger influence in the type of employees needed within their sector and I support the diploma fully."

John Vincent, Vinnie's Gym owner
"The new Diploma has a completely different structure to any qualification that exists currently. There’s a big emphasis on functional skills – maths, English and ICT; all are contextualised to working in the sport and leisure industry, a unique component of the qualification. For instance, maths skills can be applied practically to body fat testing and time spent on the treadmill, so that ultimately everything the student does is related to the employer. Employers can be confident that students have the right experience across the board from customer service to coaching, gym inductions and basic fitness tests."
