The advanced Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure is designed to prepare students for further study and employment at higher levels in the industry. It allows for greater specialisation through the specialist learning element.

The Diploma also incorporates a minimum of 10 days’ experience of work, wherein students have the opportunity to gain work-relevant skills.

Topics range from enhancing performance to globalisation in the sport and active leisure industry. Direct employment opportunities could lead to roles such as a senior play worker, head grounds keeper or gym manager. The advanced level could also lead to roles in advanced apprenticeships for sports development, advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence and many more.

The Diploma offers a challenging programme of learning and will enable a young person to develop strong intellectual and personal skills, preparing for an easier transition from school or college to higher education.

Students will be better informed about the industry and will be able to make better informed choices about undergraduate study, having a clearer focus on their career and the qualifications they need to get there.
