Gateway 3 Results

The preliminary results of the Gateway 3 submissions from Consortia to implement the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure from September 2010 have been published by DCSF.They can be accessed on: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/14-19/index.cfm?go=site.home&sid=57&pid=498&lid=630&ctype=None&ptype=Contents.

Skills Active and other Sector Skills partners on the Diploma Development Partnership  (DDP) would like to congratulate those consortia who have been successful in being Assigned a Category 1 i.e. ready to implement the Diploma immediately and/or with clear plans in place indicating how any gaps in staffing and resources will be addressed by September.

The DDP wish you every success in this new and exciting learning opportunity for young people.

Consortia who have been assigned Category 2, 3a or 3b will have been given clear guidance by DCSF on what needs to be done to move forward to successful implementation in September 2010 for those assigned Category 2, or September 2011 for those assigned Category 3a or 3b. You will also have been given an opportunity to discuss your assessment with your regional co-ordinator/assessor. NB the deadline for booking a slot with your regional co-ordinator is Friday, 24th April.

Whilst there is much to be done, there is a period of 18 months to develop and consolidate your offer. We would like to encourage you on that path as we believe that the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure will provide new and exciting challenges and opportunities for young people interested in a career in the sport and active leisure sector.
