Can my business still get involved?
Absolutely. Continuing employer involvement will ensure the Diploma is driven by employer needs and is critical for the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure’s success. Employers can get involved by contacting the 14-19 manager within their Local Education Authority for further details.

Can small and medium sized enterprise (SMEs) get involved in Diploma delivery?
The Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure has been designed by a wide range of employers, with representatives from each of the sub sectors and businesses of all sizes and from the public, private and third sector. Many SMEs in the sector have already been involved in the design of the Diploma qualification on an individual basis through working with a Diploma Development Partnership.

What Diplomas are being offered in my region?
The Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure will be ready for first teaching from September 2010, please ask your local school or college to see whether they will be offering it. What role are the National Skills Academy (NSA) expected to play in supporting consortia to develop and deliver the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure?
At the forefront of the NSA remit is to provide a lead role in bringing employers together as a forum for the education and training community in a coordinated way. Therefore, the NSA are able to actively support consortia in arranging work placements, providing a brokering mechanism between themselves and employers, ensuring that these relationships are managed effectively. The NSA are also well positioned to support the planning of innovative approaches to the delivery of the Diploma. Once Diploma delivery is underway, the NSA could have an active role with the monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of the programme. I would like to link to a local consortia, how can I find one?
Your local EBP or Local Authority will have a 14 – 19 co-ordinator responsible for gathering together all interested and available parties who want to co-deliver the diploma.

Apart from offering work experience what can I do to help?
There are a number of ways you can get involved to assist these young people on their diploma course. You could visit the school / college and do a talk, you could offer a tour of your premises. You could allow a teacher to shadow you for the day to give them a better insight into your industry, or you could offer a placement for a morning a week instead of a 2 week block placement.
